kindred

Kindred depicts the junction between the visible surface and what lies beneath. A human exterior and a bestial interior conjoin, ultimately evolving into the notion of an egressing animal spirit altering human identity. Tight, controlled graphite renderings of animal and human pairings portray a unique tailoring of cohabitation. Mysticism converges human and animal, melding both spirits into one.

It is the exploration of unseen forces dictating identity. Questioning existence of the invisible are answered as recognizable factors of personality come into sight. Graphite yields visibility, visibility proclaims truth, and the sole becomes distinguishable, sharing the disguised arrangement responsible for character. No longer is the sole suppressed as it emerges from behind a discernable mask of identity.
